you guys rock. i am probably one of very few 6-foot chicks who can honestly say she’s jealous of your volley ball skillz, since i never had (or will have) them. =) coordination is a gift to be relished.
Jonny K - props for using “Won’t Back Down” as the opener song. (little bit of family pride there, hermano) great throw back. Also, some Lovely reverb in the performance clip, by the way.
I hope we can look forward to a continuation of the tour blog as Mat (and crew/support) headlines. Oh, and i agree with the previous comment that videos of experiments with street performances and other such “funnin’ around” with the fans would be grand material for those of us who crave the tour/live music culture and, thus, live vicariously through this blog.
way to keep it real, y’all. Be blessed.

classic! eye of the tiger.. now, i do believe it’s absolutely necessary that you come to seattle. or at least the pacific northwest? i could tell you about the best cuban pulled pork sandwiches ever..
Okay, I wasn’t going to comment anymore…but I must. I was lucky enough to “catch” some public twitter messages from Mat on this blog recently (I’m not signed up yet), and I have to respond and Thank him for his message dated June 9th. I’m sure I’m not the only one who saw the twitter and thought, “ME TOO”. In fact, I bet he’s rcv’d many responses. Anyway, for me, it was a “lifesaver”, well, maybe even sweeter, because I was just starting to doubt myself and my future pathways again. So, I agree with keeping this blog alive, and also with the talent that Mat possesses in so many respects!
Oh, and I’m not Taylor Swift, unfortunately, but she is soo.. inspiring. Five for fighting speaks of age 15 wonderfully as well, in their song, 100 years.
See you in the garden!
I’m a lot like “guess who” and not as lucky as Tristen who will see you in the front row. Just in case you are looking for suggestions for upcoming set lists
i would love to hear your favorite song first, then, All I need, All I Have, and your cover of Bruce’s Atlantic City (it’s absolutely beautiful when you sing it), if that’s pemissable. Anything Else from Black & White is a bonus (love Nothing Left to lose and lots from that album, but your lyrical ability and voice are just too huge for rapping, in my opinion. It is sort of like the vibe overpowering the content…) That’s just my little old wish list…I’m sure you’ll get many more requests…see you in the garden! Wish I could view your rehearsal on Wednesday, I hope you upload some of it for those of us who have to miss out! Life is grand when you can dance and be a fan! I bet it’s even better when you have a dance partner!
Re: Twitter feed about dance party life dream -
ummm…. Mat…? your life already IS like that, dude! have you not noticed the crowds dancing?
keep showin’ us where the rhythm is.
Much Love.

i just got back in town and I’m getting ready to leave again, it’s fun to tune in and see your blog…thanks for keeping it up! Thanks for the public twitter too….Runaway car is sooo hot… NEVER BE READY is where the moment lies…waiting does no good! You are an inspiration…I hope leaving nashville and that taste in your mouth is something you look forward to as much as getting back home! For me people have tried to shoot me straight away…I won’t let them anymore…sometimes you have to learn the hard way,i guess! Anyway, maybe deb is right about your dream life already coming true?
G-d Bless, see you in the Garden…Guess who!
ps- glad your tour kicked off awesome for you….can’t wait to see you…I want to correct an earlier comment…some things are worth waiting forever for…All of your songs are special… Thanks for sharing your journey, Mat!
Mat have a safe trip on tour!
Make sure you get back to attentive Knoxville, Tn.
I’d say you did very well here. You are very talented!
Just another 50 people it would have been a sell out……
Thanks for the picture with my 1971 Gran Sport in Farragut, Tn as the car in your video, “Nothing left to Lose”
You have quite the sound and voice my friend, everything I’ve heard from you so far I like. Keep singin’ my brother, keep blessing people with your God appointed work!
